Hmm Lets see 4 kids and well I think that just about sums up this post as to why I haven't posted anything since May. I have been meaning to but It is just so hard to get the pictures off the camera, I finally did it last night and although they are not organized or tripple backed up yet were working on it and hey I guess this is the first step!

Here are some pics of my own little heaven on earth, Ever since I was a little girl I have loved to go to Silver Lake Flats in Utah and I was so happy to finally share this little piece of heaven with My wonderful Hubby, my parents and my little ones!

PS For those of you who might not know this about me.... I love fishing! I just don't love eating the rainbow trout! Although the boys wanted to cook up their fish and eat it right then and there for lunch!

Hmmm lets see, It seems as though I have been taking a hiatus from blogging these past few months and I am sure that most people really want to just see pictures but we'll see about that. For now here is the Scoop on our lives,

A- Working on lots of new projects at work and doing a great job I might add! : ) He is still Elders Quorum President for our ward and is often visiting with people and having meetings and just taking care of everything around him. He has been very supportive in my new adventure and I am grateful for him!

BJ- I decided that taking care of a house, 4 kids 4 and under and all of the responsibilities that it wasn't enough so I decided to start my own business, I make Hair bows, Baby Car seat covers, nursing covers, and lots of other useful baby gadgets! I am currently trying to find the time to create a few new things but that is a little secret I have in the works..... Life has been a little crazy, for the past 4 Saturdays I have been in the lovely rain at the Farmers Market and I guess things are picking up a little bit which I am grateful for! But sometimes I want to just throw in the towel and say it's not worth it and then there is a little voice in my head that says keep going and so I listen and just keep going. I guess more than anything I sometimes get so caught up in the fatigue of everything going on that I forget to go out and see people and just have fun. I am trying though to get out of my little bubble.

A- Is growing up fast, at 4 he is in preschool and will have his graduation in a couple weeks, He loves it and thrives on learning. he is super imaginative and has just started playing pretend and talking between objects. It is really fun to see him and watch as the wheels in his head are constantly going. My favorite time of the day is when he will come sit by me and cuddle up and just talk.

B- Our little red head mischievous 2 year old. As long as he is fed and well rested he is fun loving and great to be around. He loves following after his brother and doing whatever. He is our little firecracker and yet constantly makes us smile.

D- Our little bundle of Joy, he is the quickest one in the family to giggle. He is definitely ready to crawl and is already picking up everything off the floor and wanting to eat it. He loves his exersaucer and generally spends at least an hour every day in it. We love tummy time and always want to eat right before bed. He is our growing little guy.

J- Our little princess and I think she knows it. She loves mommy and daddy and is very social. She loves to see herself in the mirror and talk to everyone around her. she has started to imitate sounds and often says hi, hello or ma. I love watching her smile because it comes straight from her eyes and then lights up her whole face!

As you can see, life is keeping us really busy but no busier than others, we are grateful for the time we have together and it is so fun to watch our little family grow!

We are all doing well, I guess J fell off the bed tonight, B went to the Emergency Room 2 Sunday's ago because he bit a hole in his tongue and there is a flap sticking up. long story. (side note, the nurse when she found out we had 4 kids so close together told us, " I better get to know your family by name". We had a wonderful visit from Auntie Jan , the boys loved the visit from her two puppies, Talia and Tia. And life is continuing on...

What happens when mom goes to the train station to pick up Aunt Annie

I left Anthony and the boys home to go pick up his sister from the train station, the babies were both asleep in their crib upstairs and the boys were playing with trains in the family room so Anthony started making pizza for dinner.

first he got out all the ingredients and set them on the counter to make pizza dough ( this is an important fact in this episode of 4 under 4)

After Brenda was gone for about 11 minutes she gets a text from Anthony saying I'm having a child meltdown, come home!

here's what happened,

Cups of flour dumped on the floor
a cup of sugar dumped on the floor
an entire Costco sized bottle of seasoning dumped on the floor

at this point Jane started screaming and Andrew came yelling daddy theirs stuff all over the floor!

after this Brandon got Sent to a dark bathroom,

he knows how to turn on the light......

now we have a flooded bathroom as the entire roll of toilet paper was strategically placed in the toilet and flushed down, well kind of down instead the water came up and flooded entire bathroom and a little bit of the carpet.

HMM lesson 1- don't leave ingredients on the counter with a hungry 2 year old
2. Bathroom? the best place for a punishment? ( I only know because I have tried this out of desperation it doesn't work)

Hmm lets see what will happen when mom leaves dad home next time.

Utah Trip

Cabella's we made several trips there to feed the fish! It's one of grandpa's favorite places to go

Every night Grandpa got snuggle time with Jane! I think she misses him most of all, David usually falls asleep first and Jane stays up so she can get individual attention!

CLEAN LAUNDRY

Yes it got out of hand and took me a week to get under control. I have realized that if the batch doesn't get folded right away this is what happens! Wow I never thought washing and keeping clean clothes could produce so many clothes! But one of my goals is to fold the clothes as they come out of the dryer so that never again will I have a pile like this! I'll let you know how this goes!

My little boy is growing up fast! In January he turned 4, we decided to just have our immediate family for his party and it was really fun! He got his first set of Legos and is nice enough to share with his little brother.

A few things about Andrew
his best friend is his brother who he loves to tease and play. In the morning if one is awake with out the other they have to wake each other up!

has just started pretend play, its so fun to watch him use his imagination!

Full of love and life! He is my big helper when there is a sucker involved : )

I love watching him grow up and become a wonderful little boy! I am excited to see the adventures that he is able to experience in his life! Love you!

N- Never a minute to myself
E- Earning my muscles
W- Wearing one baby or another, sometimes both

M- Managing ( everyone asks me how I am doing and my response, "I'm Here" mostly I am doing okay but we all have our moments.
E- Enjoying my kids! I am learning to love the simple moments when I can sit and snuggle the babies or read a story to the boys. Or when Brandon and Andrew bring me a blanket, and climb up on my lap!
Of Course there are always moments like these where they were both screaming for an hour and I finally got them to sleep, and because they were both asleep I was afraid to move.

Or these where both are needing to be held and loved, always during lunch or dinner time and especially always when someone else is needing mom at that moment!
Sometimes moments like these are my favorite when I can get out of the house and still be in a good mood! It takes ever last bit of patience I have to get all four out of the house with shoes and coats, sometimes we forget the shoes and worry about them later!
The babies were fussing here so I had to rock them, I hate to see what happens when they weigh more than 9 pounds.

Getting the Christmas Tree

I have really been wanting to set up for Christmas so on Saturday we decided to drive out and get a Christmas tree. We drove 10 minutes to Estacada the Christmas tree capitol of the world and by the time we got there all four kids were asleep in the back of the van. This is such a rare ocassion I had to document it. It was so hard to wake the boys up because I knew they needed to sleep but I had to. I had been promising them that they could help pick it out. It happened to be the first tree we looked at. Andrew was a chatter box to the lady there.

Anthony and I have a discussion every year about trees, I always make the comment that we should just get a fake one and he will not allow it! I have never seen anyone so adamant about a getting a real tree! The nice thing about it is that I never have to set it up myself he does the cutting and trimming and everything. I am excited because it looks great!

We set the tree up Saturday, put lights on Monday and maybe tomorrow we will finally get the decorations on, then again they might come off just as fast when the boys decide they want to play with them.

We were so excited this Tuesday morning when we found out there was snow on the ground! yes it was only a light sprinkle but hey anything is better than rain! : ) The boys had to take advantage of it so I sent them out back, they were cold after about 5 minutes but hey they had fun while it lasted! : ) And what is better than "luke warm" hot chocolate after playing outside!

I decided to set up shop in the kitchen so I could get a couple of pics, I could only click the camera two times before the babies started to get upset! I am learning you have to be ready and quick when you get shots of babies!

It doesn't help that the whole time I was getting after A & B to get out of the picture and stay back long enough so that I could take a pic! I need to get some duct tape or something because they can't sit still for 30 seconds.

Yesterday we had to run to grab something from the store and who knew it could be so much fun! The boys felt like they were at an amusement park, they got balloons and everything.
Whenever I lay the kidos next to each other their arms end up intertwined like they are holding hands.

This is their three week pic, I am annoyed there was fingerprints on the lens from the other two monkeys so it is not a very clear pic.
The twins enjoy going on walks, as you can see they are fast asleep.

The boys found a sidewalk covered in leafs and they thought it was the best thing in the world!

Yummy Recipe

I had to use up pears before they went bad and this is a recipe I found. It is yummy

Pear Bread
3 1/2 C Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Salt
1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Ginger
1 tsp Nutmeg
1/2 tsp Cloves
2 C Brown Sugar
1 C Oil
1/2 C Honey
2 tsp vanilla extract
4 Eggs
4 Pears diced

Mix Dry ingredients together. Cream Brown Sugar, Oil, Honey and vanilla in bowl. Add in Dry ingredients. Add eggs one at a time mixing well between. Fold in diced pears. Bake at 350 for 55-65 min.

New toy storage for the boys room

I wanted to take a pic of the boys room, it's fun to have them in matching beds, now if we could just get Brandon to stay in his bed it would be a good thing. The only thing we need in here now is to move the mattress in for Brandon and to get them quilts for their beds. The ones on there are from my college days.

I have been wanting storage for the boys room for a long time. I was really tired of all their toys being in big bins and so here is the solution I came up with. I love the striped bins!

32 weeks pregnant

So I have had many people ask to see me pregnant and I haven't wanted to comply because I really don't like my pregnancy pics but a friend of mine took some for me so here they are!

Things have been going great, it hasn't been totally uncomfortable until this last week. I started getting nasty back pain and lots of contractions, not enough to cause concern but enough that I might be home bound for a while. grrrrr I tried to go on a walk with the boys today and we only made it about a block and a half before I had to turn around because I was in too much pain to continue. I know the end is in site and I have been so truly blessed to be able to do as much as I have. I really can't wait to meet my new babies and introduce them to the boys. (who knows what the boys will do). 4.5 weeks and counting.....

Baby update

I just got to see the babies again this past week and they are doing great! I have never had so many ultrasounds or doctors visits before but at least they are growing. They are now over three pounds each! Yea! I was really excited when the doctor told me that she would not let me be pregnant longer than 38 weeks so I guess now the due date is the middle of October, or right on my birthday. I thought it was funny that I was measuring right on schedule for twins and that I am exactly what most women are at full term with one baby. So as far as being pregnant goes it feels like I am moving into my 42 week instead of the 32 that I am. I guess that's life!

Ready or not we are on the home stretch and trying to get ready to welcome our two new additions! I will probably be posting lots of pics of their room when I get it set up the way I want but for now here is a teaser of one of the many projects I have been working on! At least their car seats are ready and waiting, (although we might have to take out the stuffed animals that are buckled in!)

Summer Fun

Andrew loves to tie things up, anytime he gets rope or tape or string or yarn etc in his hands this is what ends up happening! I think he needs something specific he can always tie up but that's not as much fun. Brandon just follows him around everywhere he goes!

In the heat of the week and since our membership to Omsi is about to expire we decided we needed a fun day out! We love playing with daddy

More Utah Fun

One of the main reasons we went to Utah was so that we could buy a new van ( Which is wonderful) We drove our our red rodeo ( on the one of the hottest days and without air conditioning) and gratefully sold it to my parents who were nice enough to buy it even though they really didn't need another car. We just needed to upgrade to a bigger car and we decided to go with a 2006 Dodge grand caravan. It had been used by a mission president and was in pretty good shape. My dad works for the church and so we were able to get it before it went to public auction. While we were there the boys decided to give my dad a chase and they ran into a restricted area which was a floor of cubicles. Brandon ran one way and Andrew the other and the only one who could go after them was my dad. He didn't let go of them the rest of the time we were there.

Mindy Allred and I, we are due within a week and a half of eachother, my mom insisted we take a picture. It was really fun to be able to spend time with such a good friend!

Utah

After only being home for a week we headed off to Utah to spend some time with my side of the family. I was able to see all three of my brothers within a 2 week period although they weren't able to see each other. It was so good to spend time with family.

Brandon Turned 2

In the midst of all the craziness Brandon had his birthday, we were still out of town for the official day but we decided he wouldn't noticed if we celebrated a few days later. I needed time to recover before I could think of anything else. We tried to keep it a low key thing so it was just our family and we had to rush things because Anthony had a meeting we had forgotten about.

The next Day was warm enough so we decided we could let them have a lot of fun and go swimming in their kiddie pool. They Love water

Serena's wedding

We were so blessed to have all Anthony's wonderful aunts and uncles come out from Utah for the wedding! It was so fun to be able to see them and spend a little bit of time with them! The Kids loved the attention and the adults loved the visiting!

June trip to Astoria

We started off our crazy summer with a visit from Anthony's sister and her family. It was so fun to have them here and to let the cousins play as much or as little as they wanted. We went camping in Astoria and were able to just sit back and relax for a weekend before all the craziness hit trying to prepare for Serena's Wedding (Anthony's other sister).

Andrew was helping me in the kitchen. We were making pancakes and he reached for something he wasn't supposed to and burned his arm on the edge of the pan! He was a brave little soul and didn't cry! He just kept telling me, "mommy I okay". I am glad he bounces back fast!

Grandma and Grandpa came to Visit

We were so Excited to have Grandma and Grandpa come and visit! Grandma was here the longest so we were able to go to many fabric stores and enjoy the rows and rows of wonderful bright colors.

Grandma even redid my laundry room to make it more usable! I was so excited I wanted to do laundry. I think the excitement has worn off though. I need to get caught up again tomorrow.
We took Grandpa to one of our favorite places. The waterfalls in the gorge. It was a beautiful day and Andrew and Brandon were so excited to be outside with some of their favorite people!
Andrew is still talking about how Grandpa is his best friend and how much he loves him! It might have something to do with his truck though! : ) Thanks for visiting! WE LOVE YOU!

Trouble 1 and 2

I know I have been slacking off at posting, I wish I could say I had a good reason but I think it comes down to sure laziness. I just haven't wanted to get the pictures off the camera. I finally accomplished this yesterday so here are a few pics of what we have been up to.

Zoo

Our Zoo membership is expiring so we decided on one last trip to the Zoo! The boys were so excited, All the way there Andrew kept talking about it! We Asked him what he wanted to see and the only thing that mattered was seeing the Elephant's! Brandon wanted to see the Giraffe, well that's what Andrew told us.

This was the best part about our whole trip! The boys were so happy to be able to ride the Train! The smiles never left their faces.
I loved this picture! Brandon happens to be wearing a lion on his back so it seemed to fit!

We haven't gone anywhere with Daddy for a while and so it make the whole trip worth it!

The Kids love to get out and play, a couple weeks ago we went to the children's museum and it was really fun! I got really tired trying to watch both of them at the same time but I guess all that matters is that they enjoyed themselves!

The boys love to be outside any chance they get! They are so happy when they can get outside and run and jump and play here is one of our fun adventures!

A little shocked

I guess the 10 months of trying finally paid off....

I am just glad there are only two! I went to the doctor yesterday hoping that everything was good with the baby and hoping to get a picture. It was a little chaotic because 3 minutes after I meet my new doctor she got called out to deliver a baby, so I get to wait... after about 15 minutes of sitting there in anticipation the Doctors Assistant tells me that the doctor will be a lot longer and that they are going to get me in to see the ultra sound tech, I was relieved I wouldn't have to come back later because I wanted the ultra sound so badly. I never feel like all the symptoms are real until I get to see the baby!

The Tech looks for a while without saying anything and I am staring at the screen thinking... Something is different there is this wierd line on the screen. I guess he had noticed that there was something different and decided to check for heart beats before telling me that there were actually TWO babies in there. aaaahhhhh was the only thing I thought. I just about started to cry not knowing what to expect, I already feel like Andrew and Brandon are crazy enough, I just can't imagine having two at the same time.

It was interesting because instead of just telling me that I was having twins the tech said, " now make sure when you set up all future appointments you tell the receptionist that there are two babies in there." It me a minute to let that register.

So I guess I am due in October, who knows when they will come...
I have to say I feel bad for the relief society president in our ward because with my babies that makes 13 new babies this year in our ward. I think there is something in the water out here in Gresham, if you are in the Powell Valley Ward beware there is a bug going around.

Spinach Salad

I have been wanting salads ever since our Saint Patrick's ward potluck and finally I decided that I would make one of them today! It turned out yummy, We ate every last bit of it! The dressing was a poppy seed vinaigrette ( I just couldn't find poppy seeds in the bulk isle of Winco so I forgot to go back and buy them) But it was yummy! I ate the last little bit of it tonight (My third bowl) , and still want more hmmmm I might have to go back to the store so I can stock up on some of the ingredients!

Just Waiting for my Book

I have to admit I love historical fiction books! I just started re-reading the tennis shoes among the Nephites books and hadn't yet read the 10th one and so I am anxiously waiting for it to come in the mail, I guess I should have gone to Deseret book and bought it but last week I didn't have a car so now I have to wait, and wait, and wait! I hope it comes soon! How else am I going to stall doing all those things I don't want to do!

to potty or not to potty

I have been trying to get Andrew potty trained for 6 months, he gets really excited about it and then all of the sudden he asks to have a diaper and tells me he doesn't want to go on the potty and then because he can goes in his underwear because he is stubborn. I have cleaned up the floor in the bathroom so many times, I need to pour bleach on the floor. I have tried to leave him naked and bribes and everything I can think. I just don't know what else to try, He knows how to do it and will do it when he wants a treat but won't do it when he needs too! aaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!

What a week

This was one of the busiest weeks I have ever had, we went to my mother-in-laws to replace the flooring in her house and boy was it a big job.

New Laminate Floor
Textured a ceiling
Painting half the house
Added trim to most the house
Two boys with double ear infections, Sinus infections and high fevers for 4 days
a broken down car
trying to find a rental car that will hold 40 boxes of laminate flooring
Selling a fireplace
Searching for a new car
Calling tow trucks and car insurances

The house looks great! I guess that is the best thing we can hope for! I will post a pic soon!

My Crafty week

So this week the crafty bug got me and would not let go, I knew of all these things I have been wanting to do but they all cost money and, Well we never have enough of that! : ) So I kept on thinking and searching through fun creative blogs so that maybe I could use someone else's ideas. It helped get the juices flowing and I started to think. I have always wanted to put the kids names up in their room! I just have never wanted to buy the letters in order to do it so I came up with another idea, It involved breaking out the power tools, but what is better than power tools when you need to cure your crafty bug!

Don't worry it still isn't gone I have some other fun cheap ideas that might help your crafty bug!

This next one is just to show my mom that I really did finish the curtains : ) And to Tell Ali thanks and look how well they match! : )

This was a project I just finished for church, I want the senior primary to be able to learn the books of the scriptures because of how much these songs helped me through seminary and after! I think they are very beneficial to learn!
Another project for Primary, I did this one a couple weeks ago but they were too cute not to share, Inside each fish is a washer and I have a stick with a magnet attached that they can catch fish with!

Don't worry i'll change you

Last night we were sitting in Costco and I had just explained to Anthony that my bum was sore from the workout I did that morning.
As soon as I was done talking Andrew pipes in, " Don't worry mommy, I'll change you."

We busted up laughing because I had just changed Andrew's sore bum about 10 minutes earlier and so he must have been thinking about it still!

Unexpected experiences

My favorite part of our DC trip was standing in front of the Declaration of Independence and the constitution and feeling the hand of God in the drafting of these important documents. I was really surprised at how many spiritual experiences I had while walking where the founders of our country walked. As I stood in front of the flag that inspired the national anthem I marveled at how hard the people of our country fought to guarentee that we were free from oppression and that we had the freedom of religion. Because of their work and inspiration the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ was able to be restored to the earth. We have the right and privileged to stand up for those things that are against the Constitution. As the United States goes through difficult times and tries to forget the past it is up to us to remind them of how much suffering and work we as a nation went through in order to have the blessings we have today!

Rheanne's baby shower

Matt and Vanessa's Wedding

We had such a good experience at the wedding! Anthony and I were able to do a session before the ceremony and we had such a neat experience! It made the wedding a really special experience because we were so intuned with the spirit. It also brought back so many memories of our own wedding almost 4 years ago and the feelings we had.

Anthony and Matt have been great influences in each others lives, since they were 3 they have had the love and support of eachother, they were even baptized together.

Anthony and I spent a fun valentines weekend touring Washington DC! I can't think of a better valentines day or in our case weekend. The kids stayed home with grandma, and although we missed them terribly it was really nice to remember what it was like to be able to do whatever we wanted whenever we wanted ( including a late night walk to all the monuments in the freezing snow and ice, slipping on my bum, racing from down town Alexandria to Georgetown, to the "mall" and trying to squeeze in Fords theater and the Library of congress. Not to mention the whole reason we went there! A wedding!)

Shelves in my cupboard

I guess I have been on an organizing spree, I still have a few cupboards to go and a few rooms to fix but here is another finished project.

I had one cupboard that was causing me all sorts of grief so was determined to go and buy shelving for it, some of those wire shelves. Just as I was about to go to the store it was nap time and so I put Brandon down for a nap and sat down thinking about what size of shelves I wanted. I am not sure how it all came to pass but I ended up going out to the garage to see if I had a piece of wood the right size so I could just add another shelf like I had in a different cupboard. While I was digging through all the scraps of wood I found an old book shelf that was the perfect size for the shelves and so I got out all my power tools and went to work. I am very happy with the solution! Everything has a place and I am not searching for things! I can't wait to finish more cupboards and find more fun solutions.

PS I was going to paint them white but I was too excited to get them in the cupboard to wait for paint to dry, maybe next year when I organize the cupboard again they will be painted a different color! : )

Charging Station

I get so tired of trying to find the right cord in order to plug in all the electronic gadgets that we have around the house so I started looking online for a solution, I found lots of really cute solutions for 50 to 100 dollars and was not willing to spend that much. After a little more research I realized that all I really need is a box, and not having the right size of one at home I went to Michaels with a 50 percent off coupon and found a pink one. (Anthony was averse to having anything pink sitting on the counter in the kitchen) So after 10 minutes trying to find the right color in all my scrapbooking papers we came up with this and I am really happy with how it turned out.

Anthony is an artist there are no two ways around it. Everything he does is turned into a giant art project, when we play trains, daddy's is always the biggest with every possible piece, when we play blocks it is the same. No wonder the boys love to build with their daddy!

Cake for breakfast

This morning I asked Andrew what he was doing and what he wanted for breakfast, his first response was, " Hey what you want I was in a birthday party" his second answer was "CAKE" so I asked him if he wanted to help me make pancakes into cakes? He loves helping me cook but doesn't love to eat so I was hoping this would help the eating process.

We even put sprinkles on the whip cream frosting! I thought it was a creative way to handle breakfast and yet true to form Andrew still licked off the frosting and wanted to leave the "cake". I enjoyed my 7 layer cake so I guess that is all that matters.

Wisdom Teeth

Dog dog's bad day

The other day Andrew came up to me and said, "mama, dog dog has stinky pants" So I asked him if we needed to change him, well Andrew helped change the diaper and everything! After he got a new diaper he needed a bandaid.

In the middle of the night we found Andrew outside our bedroom floor asleep and his dog still wearing the diaper, We didn't think it would last but it was funny so we had to take a picture.

Trip to Chicago

Andrew has been excited about his plane ride for a long time and every time we talk about it he was insistant that he wanted to fly on a "smaller one". They were so excited to get to the airport and see the big planes coming in for a landing and then a takeoff. We went early to the airport thinking that because of the recent bombing attack it would be a pain to get through security. Checking bags and security took about 20 min total and since weather was bad in Chicago our plane was delayed 45 minutes so we had lots of time to wander around and go exploring in the Portland Airport. We sat and watched Aladin at Wendy's while we ate lunch, and watched the planes land and had as much fun as possible. Luckily there is a little play area for the kids, it helped a ton.

As soon as we arrived in Chicago Andrew saw the snow and was begging to go and shovel and play in it! It was the only thing he wanted to do!
Grandma was nice enough to bundle him up and go out with him, He loved every minute of it, and cried when it was time to come back inside.

That night we got to go and hang out with Jason And Becca which was fun, we went to an Israeli resturant and had the best pita's I have ever had in my life, I am still craving them!! I will have to find a recipe someday.

On Sunday Andrew got to celebrate his birthday again with his Aunts and Uncles and grandparents, He got some fun cars...
Brandon got to sample his first IceCream cone from "Taylor" Yes our soft serve machine is a member of the family.
Jared and Ali made these cute penguin cupcakes for the occasion,
The boys loved playing in grandma's house, this one is the perfect size for them.

ON Monday we got to see the Chicago Shed Aquarium They had balouga wales and dolfines and all sorts of fun things! I think their favorite part was the mini submarine with lots of buttons to push and the penguin exhibit with slides and tunnels.

I met my newest niece, She is a sweet heart! I know we will be good buddies!
The Boys got to play with their cousins in the snow! We went and got them special snow stuff for the occasion. I just need to find snow here in Oregon so we can do it again! They loved it!

We had so much fun visiting Chicago and seeing my family, We all wished daddy could have been there too! It would have made the trip almost perfect!

Beans

I like to can black beans so I can have them ready when it's time for dinner because I never have time to cook them when I really want them done. Before we left for Thanksgiving I got my beans soaking and planned on doing them in the morning before we left, We weren't planning on leaving until 5 in the afternoon so it wouldn't be a problem. Well plans changed and we decided to leave early so I didn't have time to can in the morning and I had all my beans soaking. Rather than let them continue to soak I laid them out to see if they would dry out or to see what would happen. After leaving them for 5 days...I had 6 pounds of sprouted beans that I had no idea what do with.

Thanksgiving trip

We went to Sutherlin for thanksgiving and had tons of fun! We visited with Grandma Sheffield and Annie and saw Serena for about 10 min. Brandon was showing off for everyone and loved getting the attention.

While we were there we decided to scrape the popcorn ceiling in Grandma's house, we made quite a mess. Luckily I decided to tape off the kitchen so that we could avoid messes in there but we sure made a mess doing it. Luckily we had some volunteer helpers who made life a little bit easier.

October at it's finest

My favorite month for making sugar cookies is October so I can make Halloween ones, so this year I knew I wanted to make them and so I decided that it would be something that I could do to give the Kids in Primary an incentive to sing. I brought all the ingredients for the cookies and told them that they had to earn them and that I would make sugar cookies for them only if they earned them. They sang their hearts out but a couple of the songs for the primary program needed a little work still so I gave them another chance. They did such a good job that of course they deserved their sugar cookies, I made 50 Orange pumpkins with frosting and eyes and everything else, It was fun to see the surprised look on their faces,

This month if you haven't gathered that and for those of you not in my ward, was the primary program, I don't know why i was so stressed out about it because the kids were absolutely awesome, It was so fun to hear them sing so well and to feel the spirit, Anthony even commented on the spirit he felt after hearing those young voices.

I am really excited because I decided we are going to have the kids sing for christmas this year which I don't think they have ever done before, I wanted them to really learn some of the Christmas songs.

Also this month Anthony got called as Elders Quorum President so he has been a little stressed about it and I know he will do a really good Job, I am so proud of all the hard work he does and I love him so very much.

My Favorite part of Halloween is being able to see all the kids in their costumes, I am so excited about our ward Halloween party and I am just sad that I am not dressing up. I love dressing up for Halloween. I bought candy for the Trunk or Treat and then decided that I wanted to do something else so I made ricecrispy treat suckers. I hope the primary kids like them! : )

My Birthday

Every body gave me a hard time about not posting about my birthday so here it is.
I had a wonderful birthday this year It was so much fun, In the morning we went to the Zoo with some friends, the kids loved it and it was fun to get out of the house, I had decided I didn't want to be home all day so we went out, It was supposed to rain but it didn't lucky for me, it really was so much fun.

After the Zoo we went to visit Anthony's grandmother and she was even pleasant to visit with her which made it fun, She has the onset of dementia, and so it is usually difficult to visit her. And then to culminate the evening Anthony took me on a date and we went out to dinner. I had a great time which was wonderful.

Happy Birthday

Anthony recently had is birthday, The boys thought it was a grand event, Andrew went around saying it was his birthday for a week before and after, and Brandon wanted to pop every balloon in sight. But overall we had a fun visit from Anthony's mom and sister, I think the favorite gift were 4 Styrofoam swords, The boys and Anthony got really excited about them and went around playing swords all night long.

When I asked Anthony what he wanted for his birthday cake he said, Carrot Cake and Brownies, I had plans to make him a really cool two tired cake but having dealt with a broken car all week those plans went out the window, he was lucky enough to just get a cake and because I love him so much he got 2, Andrew thought they were his and he was right there in the middle of all the action.

I have been inspired by some friends to take pics of the food we love, We had Cafe Rio pulled pork salads for a birthday dinner, They were fabulous.

Canning

I canned so much this year I am not sure what I am going to do with all of it, But it is really fun to be able to go out to the garage and grab whatever we want off the shelf and eat it to our hearts content here is what we have,

Visit to Family

About a month after we had visitors we decided to make the trek to the middle of no where and return the visit, Anthony was working in Roseburg and so we had a whole week to spend with family, It was wonderful, the last day there we were able to go out and see the lighthouse, I like lighthouses, So we walked down to the coast to spend time on the beach, It was cold and Andrew was being Stubborn and so we had a difficult time getting him to walk, I guess we just wore him out with all the soccer games and everything else. So anywho, It was awesome.

To Blog or not to Blog

So every day I have been saying to myself, "I really should update my blog today" and everyday I say well maybe later, I'll just look at all the other blogs. So here goes...

We had a fun visit from my sister in law and her three kids, We went to the Zoo, and the Museum of Science and Industry and Played with scooters and all sorts of fun stuff. It was tons of fun to bee able to see them and to have the cousins play together. It made me realize that they need to see each other more often so that they can become better friends.

The car saga after the temple trip

I was going to blog about my whole adventure of getting my car fixed as it was a huge ordeal. It turns out that it wasn't the battery after all it was the Alternator, I almost got stuck on the 205 Bridge coming home from Vancouver, I spent one full day with the kids going to three auto stores trying to get a replacement alternator ( every one I tried was broken) and after 4 trips to the mechanic's shop and having a tow truck push me into the mechanic's shop ( he couldn't hook me up and tow me because that would be expensive for us and we were 200 feet away is all. I do have my car back and running. I am grateful because I love "Susie" (my car) although my battery died on me today but that is a whole different story...

Hopefully I don't have to relive those couple of days and everything will be all good.

Temple Trip

Anthony and I have been trying to get to the temple for a long time, It has been crazy something always comes up and we end up saying, " I guess we'll just go next week" well next week ended up being three months later. So some great friends of ours offered to watch out kids for us so that we could go, I took the kids over to her house at 4:30 thinking, okay I'll miss traffic and I will be able to meet up with Anthony and we can drive the last half hour together. As I rushed out the door bags in hand I had the feeling, I better go to the bathroom first, but I ignored that feeling and left anyways. After dropping off the kids I drove off, That's when I noticed something wasn't quite right with my car, about 10 min from the house wierd lights started going on, like the gas light and I had over a half a tank of gas, I called Anthony and told him there were wierd lights on and yet I continued to keep on driving, a few min later The odometer stopped working, I started really fretting and worrying about things because I didn't want to get pulled over but I just pushed that thought aside and said, Oh I'll just go the speed of the cars around me. Then the dreaded check engine light comes on... thirty seconds later I am on the side of the road on a really busy street in my high heels thinking to myself what am I going to do now. Anthony is trying to finish up a few projects, Brittney has my kids so she couldn't do anything and most importantly that I had to go to the bathroom!!!!!! I called Anthony and he told me he was leaving work, The nearest store was 3 miles away and he was 15-20 depending on the day. So I decided to go and walk down the street until I found a house so I could use their bathroom, I knocked on two different houses and no one was home, I wanted to find a tree or something but I was on a really busy road, I tried running through all senerios in my mind, non of them were good enough. Luckily through divine intervention Anthony made it there quickly, And I got in the car and said, "drive fast and get me to a bathroom now!" So we drove off, after that was taken care of and I could think straight again we decided to go and buy a battery but in order to do this we had to know how it was mounted and what size we we drove back to the car got Anthony's church clothes, checked the battery and then drove back to buy a battery, then back to the car to install the battery. It was now 6 or so a whole hour and a half later and when I expected to be at the temple.

Anthony didn't get lunch so he was starving and so we ran into Safeway because it was the closest big store with a bathroom and dinner options (Chinese food). We ate fast because we were supposed to be at the temple already,

After getting back in the car and driving to the temple, thinking to ourselves yea we finally made it here Anthony realized he couldn't find his phone, he looked all over the car and everything. This was his work phone and he needed before tomorrow. So he thought it over and realized he left it at Safeway in the bathroom. we only had my phone to use and I don't have internet on it anymore, so we had to call 411 and try to get them to transfer us to safeway, we were now approaching 8 and the session had already started. We sat in the parking lot and were a little depressed because we had made it so far and to not be able to go inside the thought was overwhealming so we decided to do just five names in initiatory. It was wonderful and I received so many answers and just was able to sit back and think about the things that truly mattered, After all was said and done the things that are the most important are often the things we neglect the most.
I don't think Satan wanted us to be at the temple tonight but I do know that we needed to be their and that we are better prepared to receive the words of our prophets.
Everything worked it's self out, my car just needed a new battery and I just needed a spiritual recharge as well! it is awesome how that works!

I went out to pick peaches yesterday and was introduced to one of the nicest women I have ever met, She was showing me around her yard and telling me about all the fruit there and lo and behold she has a mulberry bush, I never knew they really exist, the fruit is really sweet and juicy and you have to put the stem between your teeth and pull the fruit off without eating the stem, It was wonderful, We also got to try white plums off the tree which were perfectly ripe and juicy, they just dripped off your chin we had a wonderful experience. I was so excited, I was given enough plums to make two batches of plum jam, we'll see how it turns out! : )

Brandon's first Hair cut

So after 14 months we decided it was finally time to cut Brandon's hair, We were really sad to see the curls go though. I think B grew up from baby to little boy with just one hair cut.

Andrew and the scooter

Cousins came to visit and brought their scooters and Andrew thinks they were bringing them a present. He loved the ride although it was quite an experience. Jenn will have to tell you about it.

My boys love the sand

We had so much fun at the beach, there is one on the oregon coast that is made entirely of lava rocks, The boys loved the sea creatures that we saw there and the seals and sea lions, although Brandon preferred to eat the rocks.
This is the first time I have ever seen a jelly fish on the beach and there were tons of them. I wanted to touch one but didn't dare because they can still sting even out of water.
Our heron friend came around every morning so that we could admire his beauty
Andrew saw his Grandma Sheffield using binoculars and found two propain tanks that he decided would work.
We went to the beach a few weeks ago and found out that the boys absolutly loved the sand, They couldn't get enough of it.
This is Anthony's first sandcastle, It was crazy trying to keep the boys from smashing it.
